Job DetailsLevelEntryJob LocationJackson, TN - Jackson, TNPosition TypeFull TimeEducation LevelHigh School Diploma or EquivalentJob CategoryManufacturingDescriptionJob Purpose Statement:The position is responsible for quality analysis and quality requirements of parts based on customer specifications.Summary of Responsibilities:Ability to understand and explain the cured tire grading standardAbility to understand and explain the trim matrixAbility to understand and explain the steam leak procedureAbility to understand and explain the inspection stampsAbility to explain and demonstrate the procedure for non-conforming materialAbility to enter tire data into databaseAbility to explain and demonstrate various tire repair methodsAbility to use problem solving skills Audits tire machines, presses, and spray boothDay-to-day waste follow-up on shiftTrouble shooting and adjustments to improve/eliminate defectsContainment and follow-up of tire holdsBuy-off on all changes on pressesMentor builder, molder, and classifiers on qualityOversee/guide repair of tires on shiftFeedback to employees on defective product that generates wasteAbility to mount and ITM tires Ability to build and mold tiresExpanding ResponsibilitiesExpand responsibilities to component materialsTesting requirements for qualityFollow development/new product buildsData collectionQualificationsEducation, Experience and Skills Required:High school diploma or GEDMust be willing to work any shift and overtimeAbility to move and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand for long periods of timeSuccessfully pass a background check (no felonies) and drug testMinimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencHighly desired skills, knowledge, and experiencePrevious manufacturing experienceExperience in lean, kaizen, and high performance work teamSilver level on the Career Readiness CertificateStrong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook preferred (basic computer skills and experience required)Ability to read and interpret in-process drawings, work instructions, process maps, etc.Strong background in mathematics and statistics with knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) preferred and/or willingness to learn, develop and interpretExperience working with gages, tracking records and measuring parts is preferable with exposure to gage R (Repeatability and Reproducibility studies) techniques desirableMust possess good problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsTeam player with a high sense of urgency who has the flexibility to help out wherever needed and adapts well to changeMust be willing to train on new equipment, software and/or measurement techniquesMust be customer (internal and external) focused and support the Lean Six Sigma vision Ability to work effectively in a Team environmentAbility to lift materials, 40 lbs or less regularly; up to 70 lbs occasionally
