Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical/Surgical Ortho position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior ortho and travel experience. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center - Medical/Surgical Orthopedic unit - Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00) - On-call required as needed - Weekends required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered - Team nursing ratios (details to be discussed with manager during interview) - Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles - Cerner EMR experience preferred - Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted - All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO requests submitted after an offer is made are not guaranteed and must be coordinated directly with the manager - If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered - Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler /n /n Requirements/n - Active TN or Compact RN license — no pending licensure accepted - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (3 preferred) - Orthopedic nursing experience required - Level I Trauma Center experience required - Large hospital experience required - Prior travel assignment experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered - ADN degree minimum required for this position - Driver's license required for consideration /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-677556.
