primary care of ill/ injured patients at the referring facility and
during transports to the receiving facility. Responsible for
relaying information regarding the patient condition to the medical
control physician and working with team members and medical control
to develop an individualized, evidence based, plan of care for each
patient. In addition, complies with Pedi-Flite policy and
procedure, hospital policies, and regulatory agency requirements.
Participates in quality improvement and marketing for the
Pedi-Flite program and serves as an educator and special resource
provider of critical care services. Models appropriate behavior as

Participates in transports in accordance with Pedi-Flite policy and
procedure, practice standards under medical direction, and
specifically with the requirements of regulatory agencies(
including FAA and CAMTS). - Completes responsibilities to assure
readiness for transport (pre-flight/pre-drive checks and
operational safety). - Participates in Pedi-Flite Quality
Improvement Process (QM reports and reviews are central to CAMTS
accreditation). - Maintains mandatory requirements to be a
transport team member and seeks opportunities to renew these
requirements without prompting, prior to the expiration
date(ensuring all specialty credentials remain current, a key CAMTS
focus). - Serves as a critical care resource person for hospital
staff and participates in approved educational and marketing
efforts. - Maintains accurate medical and non-medical records. -
Participates in Pedi-Flite team meetings. - Performs specific
duties as a transport Paramedic Education/Formal Training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Working knowledge of critical
care transport concepts, methods and techniques, and aero-medical
physiology(including stressors of flight, which is essential for
air transport per CAMTS standards). - Ability to work without close
supervision and to exercise independent judgement and critical
thing skills in high-pressure, autonomous transport environments. -
Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written
material (e.g., patient records) and communicate verbally with
associates, physicians, and medical control to ensure effective
Crew Resource Management (CRM). - Ability to prioritize and
organize multiple tasks and projects to maintain control of
workflow during time-critical transports. Supervision Provided by
this Position - There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities
assigned to this position. Physical Demands - Must weigh 240 pounds
or less(essential for aircraft weight and balance). - Exerting up
to 150 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force
frequently. - Must have good balance and coordination. The physical
activities of this position may include climbing, pushing,
standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping,
and repetitive motion. - Ability to react quickly and appropriately
to emergency situations(a core component of scene/patient safety).
- Required to have close visual acuity including color, depth,
perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as
assessing patients, analyzing data and figures, and extensive
reading. - Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact, as
well as exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous
