Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/28/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Facility: Methodist University Hospital Location: 1265 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38104 Unit: 8 North (General Med/Surg, 48 beds) Start Date: 07/28/2025 (Additional start dates: 7/14, 8/11, 8/25) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Choice between Day & Night - Days (3x12-Hour, 07:00 - 19:00) - Night (3x12 Hours) 19:00 7:00 Job Requirements & Qualifications Experience & Certifications - Minimum Experience: 2 years strictly required (3 years preferred for first-time travelers). - Specialty Experience: Recent Level I Trauma Center and large hospital experience required. - Licensure: Active RN license (Compact or TN) – No pending licenses accepted. - Certifications: - Required: BLS - Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS - Skills: - Telemetry (dysrhythmia interpretation/management) - IV starts/phlebotomy - Patient ratio: 1:6/7. Unit & Facility Details - Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (General Med/Surg). - Unit Size: 48 beds | Daily Census: 46. - Staffing Ratio: 1:6/7 (consistent across days/nights/weekends). - Floating: Rare between campuses (within 20 miles if needed). - Interdisciplinary Support: PT, RT, Social Work, Pharmacy, Rapid Response. - Hospital Type: Level I Trauma Center (Short-Term Acute Care). Local Rule: Must live 100 miles from facility.
