For more information, visit TNquality.com.POSITION SUMMARY:The Private Duty Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for providing personal care and related services in the home. Functions under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Therapist.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation; including, but not limited to:Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Therapist provide personal care which includes bathing and personal hygieneCheck and record vital signs such as patient temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressureProvide light housekeeping, linen changes, laundry, meal preparation and companionshipAssist with physical activity as assigned, such as transferring, ambulating, simple exercises and encourages independenceMay remind the patient to take their medications as prescribed by the physicianAssist the patient and/or patient representative(s) in providing a safe clean environmentPrepare simple meals and assist patient with eating when neededEstablish a relationship with the patient and patient representative(s) that promotes trust and provides emotional supportRecord observations of treatment and care given and reports any significant change in the patient's condition and problems to the Clinical ManagerSubmit all documentation in a timely manner according to company policy and proceduresAttend twelve hours of in-service per company policy and proceduresWilling to travel to other office locations and assist with staffing as neededAssist with orientation of new staff members if requestedRequired Skills:Work requires knowledge of the homecare industry, and Medicare regulationsRequired Computer Skills:Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical record applicationRequired Work Experience:Minimum one (1) year Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience preferredMust be able to provide written documentation of certified nursing assistant and must include classroom and supervised practical training in a practicum, laboratory or other setting in which the trainee demonstrates knowledge while providing services to an individual under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse who is under the supervision of a registered nurseMust be able to successfully complete and pass the Company's Competency EvaluationLicensing/Certification/Education Requirements:Current State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Current CPR CertificationCurrent state Driver's LicenseCurrent Auto Liability Insurance according to Company PolicyOther Requirements:Position may require unscheduled overtime, week-end workMust be willing and able to work flexible hoursTravel requiredMust have reliable transportationPhysical Requirements:Frequent lifting of objects up to 40 poundsSubject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pullingEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYEROur Organization does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, handicap, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, or any other characteristic(s) protected by federal, state, and local laws.
