Position Summary:The Product Design Engineer will have responsibility for developing new products to bring to the market. They will lead design projects and projects in development from inception to production. This person is expected to work collaboratively with multiple departments across the organization. This position reports to the New Product Development Manager.Pivotal Experience and Expertise:Carlstar seeks a product design engineer, who will be responsible for leading projects from start to finish including new tire pattern design, profile design, and tire specification development.Leader who can lead and coordinate new product design and development projects.Creator who can design and execute engineering experiences to create new solutions for internal and external customer's requirements. Analyzer and forward thinker who can evaluate experimental data and design parameters to improve product performance.Designer who can use CAD to design products, patterns, profiles and tooling.Communicator who can interact with customers to understand product application and performance requirements.Experience with Design/Process is preferred.Understanding of DFM, DFMEA, GD&T, Gage R&R.Advanced skills in Solidworks or AutoCAD software applications. Experience in simulation is required. PDM experience is preferred.A bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, related field, is required. An advanced degree is preferred.Minimum three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or design, preferred.Background in agriculture is preferred.Leadership Capabilities & Culture Fit:Solid organizer.
